1973, February – BAEC established by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib to support national economy by taking active role in Public Health, Food, Agriculture, Education, Industry and many other sectors. 1986, April – Nuclear disaster occurred at Chernobyl NPP near Pripyat, Ukraine and triggered the release of substantial amounts of radioactive contamination into the atmosphere. 1987, October – BAEC started working to control and regulate the levels of radioactivity in food and allied materials through establishing ‘Radioactivity Testing and Monitoring Laboratory (RTML) at Chittagong Medical College campus. 2013, October- AECC was inaugurated 2014, June – RTML, Chittagong merged with the AECC
