Dr. Sopan Das is a reputed scientist working with the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) since September 2012. He has a very strong academic and professional background in Physics and Nuclear Engineering. He did his Master's and PhD in the Nuclear & Quantum Engineering department atthe Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). During his PhD, he made a great innovation that may lead to saving millions of people from health hazards caused bycancerous Radon and Thoron gas. He derived a patent for his solution. He is passionately working with government institutions and the private sector for sustainable solutionsthat may contribute to society. As a routine work at BAEC, he led the team of inspection, identification, and recovery of radioactive materials from different sources. He got training from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) on nuclear power, radiation protection, and nuclear safety and security. He is involved in different research projects from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) Bangladesh, and different universities.
